Fall 2016 TV Scorecard: Which shows are returning? That appears to be the case with NBC, where the powers that be have chose to offer up another round of episodes to The Blacklist, which will debut its Season 4 next year. It was reported that the synopsis for “The Blacklist” season 3 episode 9 reveal that Red (James Spader) finds a way to retrieve his “care package” while Liz is still in grave danger after she has been taken to custody.

Creator Jon Bokenkamp confirmed the early pick up over the weekend in an interview with the popular podcast The Blacklist Exposed – hinting that the team has known been aware of the Season 4 renewal for quite some time now. And apparently it wasnt a recent impulse decision.
“We knew about that a while ago, it’s one of those things that’s hard to keep quiet”. “Hopefully we don’t tank that out”.
“Every cause has more than one effect”. After getting the coveted post-Super Bowl slot, the 2014-15 midseason schedule found Blacklist shuffled off to Thursday to give its prime Monday roost to something new.

The series lost a fair amount of its luster when the show was brought to Thursdays midway through last season, when it went up against ABC’s Shondaland night including Scandal. Weaker shows would have fallen out of the running completely.
