The Broncos’ Terrifying Defensive Won The Super Bowl
“They made more plays than us and that’s what it comes down to”, Newton said before walking out of a brief three-minute interview following Carolina’s 24-10 Super Bowl loss to Denver.

The Denver defense was led by Von Miller who forced Panthers quarterback Cam Newton into two fumbles that were both converted into touchdowns.
Super Bowl XLVIII: Smith recorded six total tackles, returned an interception 69 yards for a touchdown and recovered a fumble in a 43-8 blowout against the Denver Broncos.
Manning threw for a mere 141 yards and tossed an interception in a performance that typified his struggles in 2015 as Denver’s offence complied just 194 offensive yards, the fewest by a winning team in Super Bowl history.
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning refused to confirm if he is heading for retirement after his Super Bowl 50 victory, but he did promise a celebratory alcohol-filled night in San Francisco.
“I’m going to drink a lot of beer tonight”. But how many Super Bowls has Manning been to?
He can thank Von Miller and the Broncos’ swarming, big-play defense for his second National Football League championship.
Said Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib: “We didn’t expect anything else”. The ball was recovered by Broncos defensive end Malik Jackson for the first touchdown of the game and a 10-0 Denver lead. “Everybody that’s rushing, we’ll string the play out for the running back where everybody will chase him, run all the way back to the other side of the field and everybody chases him because it’s going to take those type of plays, and we have to get our wind up to get him down”.
Super Bowl XX: The Chicago Bears’ defense recorded a Super Bowl-record seven sacks, including 1.5 from Dent.
The question surrounding the Panthers all year long was whether their wide receivers would be good enough for Newton after Kelvin Benjamin went down with a season-ending knee injury in training camp.
“I’ve never seen a better one”, said John Elway, the architect of this defense.
But Carolina squandered an opportunity early in the third quarter when a 44-yard field goal attempt by Graham Gano hit the right upright. And besides making Newton’s night a living hell, the Denver defense scored one touchdown and forced a fumble at the four-yard-line to set up another.
Then in the fourth quarter with the Broncos protecting a 16-10 lead, Miller struck again.
About the whole game, really.
“You can’t rush timid because if you do, he’ll be one of those pocket quarterbacks that can get the ball down the field”, Ware said.

Denver safety T.J. Ward said the number of Denver fans, which noticeably outnumbered the number of Panthers fans at the stadium on Sunday, helped tip the game in his team’s direction.
