The Chronicles Of Narnia Returning With The Silver Chair
Sony’s TriStar Pictures, is teaming up with The Mark Gordon Company, eOne and The C.S. Lewis Company to resuscitate THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA series, picking the story back up with THE SILVER CHAIR. It’s unclear if castmembers from earlier films are returning. Nicole Brown will oversee the project for TriStar with Minghella, with Sara Smith overseeing the project for The Mark Gordon Company. Aslan summons two English children to solve the mystery of the Prince’s disappearance: Eustace Scrubb, who was seen previously in Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and his classmate, Jill Pole.

Two-time Oscar nominee David Magee (Life of Pi) is writing the movie, which boasts the involvement of Sony’s literary-focused label TriStar, the Mark Gordon Company, the C.S. Lewis Company and Entertainment One.
It’s in production in partnership with The C.S. Lewis Company, according to Deadline, while the late writer’s stepson, Douglas Gresham, is producing the movie.
It’s only been six years since Voyage of the Dawn Treader limped into theaters and then dragged itself back out again, so of course now’s exactly the right time to finally make that Silver Chair movie! “We are so pleased to team up with our good friends at TriStar and our partners at eOne to introduce this new, magical chapter of the Narnia franchise to fans around the world, both old and new”, said Gordon.
Previously, Lewis’s books were adapted into 2005’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and 2008’s Prince Caspian, both distributed by Disney and starring William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes, and Georgie Henley as the four Pevensie siblings. The previous attempt at adapting The Chronicles of Narnia resulted in three films that grossed $1.6 billion worldwide, but the franchise suffered from production and distribution issues throughout its short life.

With over 100 million copies of Lewis’s Narnia books sold around the world, the film hopes to capture a worldwide audience.
