“Right now, it’s kind of surreal”.

“Today, we just went out and executed like we did everyday in practice”, Renew said. “I looked on the big screen and everyone was still standing there”. We went through the week and believed in ourselves.

“Walking into the stadium was an awesome, awesome experience”. The Gamecocks defense overcommitted. Nick Saban warned you about FCS option teams. The Gamecocks promise to be a force on the backboards and they didn’t disappoint against the Eagles posting a 19-4 advantage on the offensive glass.

“We’re playing for the name on the front and on the back of the jersey”, Johnson said. Of course, a lot has changed in the eight months since Edwards announced his intention to spend the next four years in Columbia. “We had people in position at times, and didn’t make the play, and they did”, SC defensive coordinator Jon Hoke said. The two Palmetto State schools are separated by just approximately 120 miles, and per the Associated Press, Renew told reporters this week he had fond memories of selling peanuts in the Gamecocks’ Williams-Brice Stadium growing up.

The game-winner came on a checked call at the line of scrimmage by quarterback Dominque Allen.

Mindaugas Kacinas scored a career-high 23 points and SC never trailed on the way to topping DePaul 76-61 in the Paradise Jam on Friday night.

“At first I thought it was offsides so I just played it out and saw Pharoh run for a touchdown. To get the victory out of it – I couldn’t be more happy for those guys and everyone involved in our program”. “That big touchdown run at the end was a last minute check”. “It is awesome. I can’t thank the coaches and players enough”. “For him to be on the stage like this and do what he did, I couldn’t be happier for him”.

The two touchdowns matched a career-high.

SC would respond on their next drive. Renew, a Columbia native, finished with two touchdowns, and kicker Eric Goins added a season-long 48-yard field goal as the Bulldogs (8-3) built on a dream season that also includes a share of the Southern Conference championship, and perhaps an FCS playoff bid Sunday.

Renew was eager to get out to his family after his big day. “I had a clue then”, he said.
