The photo went viral and caused fans all over the place to wonder if Romo had spontaneously gained 45 pounds this offseason.

For his part, the reporter who took the photo, Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News, felt compelled to issue this clarification: “It certainly appears as if Romo is overweight”.

“If I was that big, I’d think we’d have some talks”, Romo said at a press conference Monday.

A healthy and in shape Romo is likely to be music to the ears of the Cowboys coaching staff, front office and fans.

I know what overweight is all about. “Tony, actually, I go in there and work out and Tony is in great shape”. In Oxnard, California, the Dallas Cowboys held their first workouts of the season on Saturday.
