The Dallas Cowboys Lock Up Their Secret Superstar
With the regular season rapidly approaching, the Dallas Cowboys have locked defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford up over the long term, signing him to a five-year extension on Saturday.

Last season, Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli switched Crawford inside, to “3-technique” tackle, where he shone as one of the NFL’s highest-grading interior defensive linemen, according to ProFootballFocus.com. A third-round pick in 2012, Crawford is going into the final year of his four-year rookie deal. He added 29 quarterback hurries and 12 hits. The Canadian-American Football defensive tackle have said that he’s been in discussions with his agents regarding the strong possibility of getting a fresh contract deal done with the Dallas before training camp started in late July and even before offseason practices back in May.
Crawford is part of a defensive line that believes it can be vastly better than most pundits credit it for entering the season. That should be reason enough to lock up their secret superstar for the next six years.

“I think a lot of what jumps out about Tyrone to me is just the kind of guy he is and how that reflects in his play”, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said earlier this week. Crawford was by far the Cowboys most effective and disruptive defender. But he played in all 16 games as a rookie.
