CEO Stephen Wynne told KPRC that he has enough supplies to build 300 cars and hopes to build one a week.

“It’s fantastic”, said Stephen Wynne, CEO of DeLorean Motors in Humble, TX.

And unlike its previous incarnations, the new DeLorean DMC-12 models will be made in America. But such trends never really caught on, and the auto was often criticized for being overpriced and under-powered. But for Back to the Future fans with deep pockets, there’s light at the end of the tunnel: A Texas company says they’ll soon begin production on brand new DeLoreans. “It is a game-changer for us. We’ve been wanting this to happen”.

The company will build replica 1982 DeLoreans, which Wynne estimates will take about one week each. Delorean, was arrested and charged with selling cocaine to save his company, though he was later acquitted.

So if you have a cool $100,000 to spare, you can get yourself the vehicle that Doc Brown and Marty McFly made famous…minus the whole time-travel aspect. The price of the auto will depend on what engine they decide to use, which hasn’t been determined yet. He hopes to go from building one a month to one a week. “You have like a fiberglass underbody”.

The company hopes to have the first new DeLorean roll of the production line early next year.
