The Dodge Charger Daytona Returns with 2 Engine Options and Hellcat Goodies
“More than 1.5 million enthusiasts are expected to come to Woodward to celebrate classic muscle cars this week, so it’s a ideal opportunity to pay tribute to the Challenger T/A and Charger Daytona with new special editions”. Both come with your choice of 5.7L and 6.4L Hemi goodness, along with host of styling, interior, and performance upgrades. With its satin black hood and period graphics, the 2017 Challenger T/A is a spitting image of the 1970 original.

Like the Challenger T/A, the Charger Daytona also scores wider 20-inch forged aluminium wheels in Hyper Black II and striped centre caps. The T/A package also includes the Super Track Pak as standard equipment, bringing a lowered suspension, high-performance Bilstein shock absorbers, performance brake pads, a sport-tuned stability control system with three settings, and high-performance Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. Dual-mode exhaust is becoming more and more prevalent, as they allow automakers to pass the Government’s noise restrictions while allowing us hot rodders to enjoy the songs of our people. However, up front, Dodge designers fitted it with SRT Hellcat-inspired driver and passenger side “Air Catcher” headlamps add even more fresh air. Both engines benefit from an intake capped with a Mopar conical air filter, as well as a burly exhaust system.
Expanding on the Super Track Pak’s capability, the Challenger T/A Plus adds a shortcut button to the Dodge Performance Pages embedded in the class-exclusive and all-new Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen fourth-generation radio, which provides visible performance information, such as a programmable shift light indicator, reaction time, 0-60 times, G-force indicator and lap times in the 7-inch thin-film transistor (TFT) customizable cluster display. Also, the engine is routed through a standard Tremec six-speed manual transmission.
Like on the Charger Daytona, satin black finishes highlight heritage logos and accents. T/A 5.7L models start at $37,390, with the powerhouse 392 T/A starting at $43,995. The rear fenders also get a “Daytona” graphic.
The Dodge Charger Daytona was presented as a performance bargain. Designers fitted the vehicle with the distinctive, SRT- and R/T Scat Pack-inspired front and rear performance fascias. Dodge has priced the Charger Daytona at $39,890.

Kuniskis added a limited-production Green Go, plus a revised Yellow Jacket hue add to Dodge brands High-Impact Paint legacy, debuting with Challenger T/A and Charger Daytona. Like the Charger Daytona with the 5.7L engine, this more powerful package has the SRT exterior features and the plush leather seats, but the Daytona 392 includes a few high performance goodies to make for a better all-around performance vehicle.
