In the meantime, have a read of the articles above and our preview below.
The win makes Federer the oldest man since 1979 to reach the Australian Open semifinals.
Djokovic and Roger Federer will meet at the Australian Open for the first time since 2011, with a spot in the final awaiting the victor at Melbourne Park.
Federer, who last triumphed in Melbourne in 2010, has looked impressive in the tournament so far, having dropped just one set against Grigor Dimitrov in the third round and serving dominant straight set wins over No. 15 seed David Goffin and No. 6 seed Tomas Berdych in the fourth round and quarter-finals, respectively.
The head-to-head between the pair now lies firmly in the balance at 22 wins each but Djokovic has the edge in recent match-ups, winning their last three meetings in grand slams. “We’ve played so many times against each other”. He’s playing good tennis again.
“He’s been playing always consistently well”. “I knew it was going to be tough”. “All right. I’ll definitely play at least one in the next match”.
Super-confident Djokovic went into the tournament on the back of a 43-match winning run.
Federer, 34 and ranked No. 3 in the world, is driven by the dream of earning another Grand Slam trophy that once felt as easy to come by as a forehand into the open court.
Missed any action from the Australian Open? “I think that makes me play better”. Not that it matters to her. “No, no, that’s absolutely fine”, she says. The Swiss great fought back to take the match in a tiebreak closing out in four sets 7-6 (7/5), 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7/5) with his 18th ace at 9:37 pm local time. These rivalries have allowed me to grow…
“They’ve been dominating tennis before Andy Murray and myself came along for many years”.
Kei Nishikori felt he defeated himself at the Australian Open, with the seventh seed lamenting his failure to convert his chances against world number one Novak Djokovic on Tuesday. I know very well how good he plays, especially in the later stages of a major event.
Laver went on to win the French Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open in 1969, giving him his second Grand Slam. “Hopefully I’ll be able to deliver”. Djokovic and Federer met in the finals of both the U.S Open and Wimbledon, with Djokovic achieving victory in both of those matches.
It’s a Goliath vs. Goliath battle, with the victor moving a step closer to another Grand Slam tournament title.
ATP Chairman Chris Kermode said the reports contained “very, very serious allegations” that have “caused damage to the sport, which is why we’ve acted so quickly and made decisions”. I didn’t think I would have done as well as I have. Coming into the semifinals, Djokovic struggled in his 4th round encounter against No. 14 seed, Gilles Simon, where he committed 100 unforced errors in a long 5-set win, but steadied his game in a straight sets win over No. 7 seed, Kei Nishikori in the quarterfinal.

“It’s nice now that in the last three slams that I’ve been as consistent as I have been”.
