The emerging political activism of Hillary Clinton during her Wellesley college years

The Republican presidential nominee brought back the “Crooked Hillary” meme in a tweet where he called Clinton’s speech a “very average scream”. PBS said its viewership for Clinton’s speech was 3.91 million people, and 2.75 million the week earlier for Trump.

President Barack Obama has joined in the mudslinging, as well, on Wednesday rejecting Trump’s motto “Make America Great Again”.

Mrs Clinton said her presidential nomination was a milestone on America’s “march toward a more ideal union”. “I can’t put it any better”, said Clinton.

Mrs Clinton emphasised her point by saying the Founding Fathers designed the US Constitution so America would be a nation where no one person had all the power.

With husband and former President Bill Clinton’s arm around her shoulder, Clinton and running mate Tim Kaine climbed aboard a big blue bus with the campaign slogan “Stronger Together” painted on the side.

Melania Trump said: “From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect”.

On Thursday evening, Hillary Rodham Clinton made history by stepping onto the stage at the Democratic National Convention to accept her nomination as the Democratic nominee for president. It also came as polls show Trump has surged into the lead nationally following the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

As she prepared to deliver her speech, people familiar with the matter said the FBI is investigating a cyber attack against another Democratic Party group, which may be related to an earlier hack against the Democratic National Committee. But unlike Obama, she will need to provide specific reasons why Sanders backers should get behind her campaign.

During a briefing on Thursday, Clinton’s communications director, Jennifer Palmieri, revealed that the former secretary of state’s speech will focus on people seeing “the woman, the full three-dimensional person that she is”. She criticized Trump’s proposals including one to build a wall along the Mexico-US border and another to ban Muslims from entering the country. Despite some ongoing resistance from Bernie backers she vowed to pinch some of his economic policies and also tackle issues like student debt which gained Sanders so much support.

They all attacked republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump. “We have to decide whether we will all work together so we can all rise together”.

“I thought it was a hopeful speech – talking about where we are as America – that we’re not this disastrous, one day from the apocalypse country. When he sees a protestor at a rally”, Clinton said. But Hillary’s been in the room; she’s been part of those decisions.
