The Flash Season 3: 10 Big Questions We’re Asking After ‘Paradox’
This new reality didn’t seem to have affected either Caitlin or Wally, though. Hopefully some of the new additions to the Rogues can change this up a little. Still, by introducing this new timeline as the permanent one is a bold move. “Paradox” offered an intriguing view of the Arrow-verse as it exists in the aftermath of “Flashpoint”, even if not all of the changes to the timeline are as dramatic as they seemed. He has got magnetic powers and can control and manipulate metals with them.

Harry Potter alum Tom Felton will debut in season 3 as Barry’s new co-worker Julian Albert.
Julian claims to see through Barry’s “good guy” act and that he doesn’t trust him. More on this later. Barry theorizes that everyone who had powers in Flashpoint is going to get them back for whatever Alchemy is planning.
It’s a question that’s lingered over the show since Barry first traveled through time: Why not just go back and fix all his mistakes? The scene where Barry comes clean about what he’s done, to the point where he’s crying in front of everyone, is extremely well-done. Only it didn’t go over as well. In light of Dante’s (Nicholas Gonzalez) death, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) was mired in grief and loathing.
Once again, another speedster is the voice of reason in the episode. Caitlyn has ice powers, though she’s keeping that a secret for now. Iris’s plea came in time for them to rally and save Barry.
Which brings us to this season’s probable big bad: DOCTOR ALCHEMY. “Dr. Alchemy” is the new super-villain. We haven’t seen his face or learned his name, though it would be consistent with most of what the writers on The Flash do if he did indeed turn out to be Albert Desmond. This holds a lot of promise for an intriguing storyline. Either way, with his prickly demeanor and smarmy charm, Julian is the flawless foil for Barry Allen.
Of course, Julian isn’t Barry’s main problem in this new timeline. He claims to be “preparing the world”, though we still don’t know for what.
The reunion is going to be exciting when the show returns.
Apparently Barry Allen should have watched The Butterfly Effect before he started mucking about with the timestream. That’s baffling to Barry’s sounding board, Felicity: “You’re like pudding”. To be fair, everyone else likes Barry, too.
– Diggle (David Ramsey) no longer has a daughter in Baby Sara. Instead, the Diggle family now has John Jr. Does this mean he’s not married to Lyla in this timeline too? But we’ve already seen Barry fight much more powerful and interesting speedsters.
For a while now, it seems like The CW’s Fastest Man Alive has been The Dumbest Superhero Alive, having selfishly rewritten time to serve his own needs and screwing up the lives of pretty much everyone in the DC/CW universe in the process. “Do you want that other life?” If he’s finally ready to leave the past where it belongs, I have hope that the show can find its footing and recapture the exhilarating Silver Age feeling from the first season. On both occasions in the past when Barry has kissed Iris, he managed to reset the timeline and it was like that never happened.

He offers to tell them how their lives differed in the Flashpoint timelines, but says he can not change the outcome. Well, that all depends on what Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) plans to do with her newly discovered, and so far hidden, Killer Frost powers.
