Klei Entertainment, the studio behind indie hits such as Don’t Starve and Mark of the Ninja is now trying its hand at bringing the classic childhood lava game to life as the new video game Hot Lava.

Remember playing “the floor is lava” as a kid, hopping from furniture to furniture as you avoided touching the ground because it was … well, lava? So how are you going to get from Point A to Point B? Yes, Hot Lava is childhood imagination game The Floor is Lava, but with actual lava and parkour skills.

The “Hot Lava” game trailer released revealed a player exploring the insides of a volcano with screenshots of a school gym. The big difference, as you might imagine, is that the lava in Hot Lava is very much real and will certainly kill you should you be unfortunate enough to make contact with it.
Actually, the best way to experience Hot Lava may be to enter for the chance to play it yourself by signing up for the free beta of the game now available on the developer’s website. A PC launch seems like a lock.
