The Footage of a Police Killing in Chicago

Angelo said in a statement that because the shooting of 18-year-old Paul O’Neal last week occurred in a matter of moments, “each individual perspective needs to be taken into consideration”. “These police officers made a decision to play judge, jury and executioner”, said family attorney Michael Oppenheimer in a news conference.

O’Neal, who was unarmed at the time, was shot in the back, and no one was seen rendering any aid in the footage. He explains one officer is hurt.

Briana Adams briefly addressed reporters on Friday before she became too upset to speak.

The use of force by police against African-Americans in cities from Ferguson, Missouri, to Baltimore and NY has sparked sometimes violent protests, as well as giving birth to a new civil rights movement dubbed Black Lives Matter. The videos have enraged anti-police violence activists and members of Chicago’s African-American community, who called it an “execution”.

“By taking this prompt action, the police is hoping obviously to show that they are doing things different now, and hoping that that will keep protesters off the streets”, he said.

Authorities released a disturbing video today showing the moments before and after Chicago police fatally shot an unarmed 18-year-old in the back.

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson promised the officers will be held accountable if found to have acted inappropriately.

The truth may never be known as the body camera on the officer who fired the fatal shots was not recording. The agency that investigates police misconduct made the videos public Friday morning.

More shots ring out as one officer boosts another over the fence.

In another clip, an officer searched for a stun gun, which had apparently been lost in the pursuit.

Three police officers have been stripped of their badges in the wake of the incident. Other officers on the scene were not so sure, asking whether the teen really opened fire on them.

O’Neal’s family has filed suit.

“What I saw were these police officers murdering this kid”, said Michael Oppenheimer. At 5:28, he tells one of the officers involved to “relax and don’t say anything until the administrative process has started”.

He said the shooting “has raised a lot of questions about whether departmental policies were followed” and said he’s tasked his team with looking at the training and tactics reflected in the incident and national best practices on use of force.

Two officers appeared and fired from pistols at the vehicle driven by O’Neal, who ended up colliding with another police auto, the video showed. This video shows footage after the shootings. Shortly afterwards, O’Neal can be seen lying face-down on the ground in a backyard, blood soaking through the back of his T-shirt.

Around 1:12: The police officer gets out of the driver’s seat as the black Jaguar seems to side swipe the police vehicle. A second officer is then seen jumping out from the SUV’s passenger seat.

A foot chase then begins, as officers follower the teenager into a garden.

He also came close to hitting an officer, which resulted in one of the officer’s firing at the vehicle, as seen in one of the videos. “I don’t know who was shooting in the alley”.
