Then there’s Star Wars’ first-ever female “baddie”, Captain Phasma, played by 191cm Gwendoline Christie of Game of Thrones fame (Brynne of Tarth), who is again decked out in shining armour – this time a remodelled storm trooper outfit. I was willing myself to breathe.

Now, finding the best sequence for the six movies is a big thing, at least among enthusiasts.

As the days count down to the Australian release date of the highly-anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 17, Ford flew into Sydney for a press tour.

John Boyega attends the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” fan event at the Roppongi Hills.

Harrison Ford reprises the role of Han Solo in the next Star Wars film but said he will not be involved in the character’s own standalone movie.

Ridley, 23, said: “When JJ Abrams told me I got the part, he said my life was going to change. And I named it (as such) because the first time I came to Tokyo, we stayed in a hostel in Takodanababa”, he revealed to raucous applause.

“Finally, we will be able to exhale”, the 40-something said.

Amid all the hype, it may be easy to lose sight of the reason the “Star Wars” series is so beloved.

physical and around you.

“‘Star Wars’ is mythical, like a fairy tale, and creates a believable world with a true hero and heroine and villain – that’s the main reason the original was such a phenomenon and so successful”, Kovacs said.

For Ridley, a highlight was stepping aboard the Millennium Falcon with Han Solo.

“To me, the knee-jerk reaction if I had to [name someone] is Ava DuVernay, who I think would just kill it”, Abrams said.
