The Gloves Are Off Between Cruz and Trump
“Donald Trump has violated this commandment one too many times”. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson was a distant third at 13 percent.

Trump’s comments about Cruz’s religion were somewhat similar to what he said about presidential rival Ben Carson’s own Seventh-day Adventist faith earlier this year, when Carson was challenging Trump in Iowa polls.
The Cruz campaign has called The New York Times report misleading and in an appearance on Fox News on Thursday, Cruz insisted his comments were not specifically about Trump, despite clearly referencing the candidate in the audio. Jeb Bush has 6% – a 1% increase from October. The super political action committee supporting Bush has been by far the largest political ad buyer in Iowa, Kantar/CMAG data shows. Vander Plaats had been courted by many Republican candidates for that reason. That’s up from 43 percent in October.
“He’s running and I’m running and we both agreed that we started out as friends and we’ll end as friends”, Cruz said in July.
In contrast, Cruz’s support has almost trebled from 10% in October. He’s followed by Trump at 72.5, Carson at 67.5 and Rubio at 62.
Trump also appeared to take a veiled shot at Cruz’s family background, suggesting Cruz might have trouble appealing to the state’s evangelical voters.
For Cruz, the poll represents a 10-point jump from a survey conducted by the two outlets in October.
Trump also accused Cruz of being beholden to big oil companies because he opposes ethanol subsidies, which are deeply popular in Iowa.
“He’s got to come a long way because he’s right now for the oil”, Trump said at a rally in Des Moines. That as a Cuban-American, Cruz should be Catholic?
Personality-challenged Republican Presidential candidate Ted Cruz has scored another important victory for in his ongoing effort to gain support from the Religious Right. Trump and Cruz supporters are more certain, at 45 percent and 43 percent, respectively. All other candidates recorded 2 percent or less.
This poll result will play a role in determining whether Paul is on the main stage for the Las Vegas debate Tuesday night, or if he’ll be with the underdogs in the undercard debate.
And there are signs Cruz may not have peaked in Iowa yet.
At a campaign rally in SC on Monday, Trump “promised” that he would go after Cruz if the Texas senator attacked him.
Now, the real estate magnate and current Republican presidential front-runner is preparing to set his sights on the Texas senator.
“I think we’re going to do, we’re doing really well with Evangelicals”. Senators are picked by 30 percent, while a “government outsider who has handled complex issues and managed teams” is the preference of 39 percent.
“Anything could and likely will happen before caucus night”. Former NFL great Hershel Walker also expressed support for the GOP frontrunner. Poll respondents interviewed by the Register said they want a president who will be tough on terrorism, and they have a trouble seeing Carson in this role.
