The goals are coming, insists Manchester United manager ahead of crucial
“We have a huge Champions League match at Wolfsburg”, Van Gaal told the club’s United Review magazine.

He is the only recognised striker in a squad that contains Nick Powell, who has only played one game for United in the last three years, Sean Goss, who is yet to make his debut, and 18-year-old defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.
United will be buoyed heading into this match after Wolfsburg suffered their first home defeat in 29 matches against Borussia Dortmund at the weekend, when a last-minute goal from former player Shinji Kagawa earned the away side the win.
United fans have occasionally shown their displeasure by booing the team’s dour performances and even more worrying for van Gaal, it has been reported that several players are unhappy with his boring style.
Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal on Sunday said his side are just not good enough to win the Champions League this season. And when you don’t score, then it lets points go.
“I have great confidence that we shall score at Wolfsburg”.
“We don’t have a record of too many wins here so it’s a good point”, the West Ham boss said.
The quality of attacking players are certainly there, but with Anthony Martial missing key chances in front of the goal, van Gaal will have to wonder if he needs another established attacking threat in front of goal.
Van Gaal’s team, without injured top scorer Wayne Rooney, were guilty of poor finishing against a West Ham side who arguably had the better chances to have won for the first time in five English Premier League matches.
“When you are creating chances at the end you shall finish those kind of chances”. It is not as if every game is 4-0 at half time, so you have to score your goals. “When that is not the case it is not easy to win matches”, the midfielder says. They have won a lot of matches at home. Bayern lost there once when Wolfsburg won 5-1 the year they won the Bundesliga.

Van Gaal said “I think he’s very talented, but he’s just 20 and we have to give him time” and with all the pressure his big money move was going to put on him he has still scored five goals for his new team, and Van Gaal says he is convinced “he will continue to do well and will score at the right moment again”. But we also won there 6-1. It is a mix of memories but they are very strong there. I am looking forward to it. They will come at us more as they are at home.
