Chicago police say two officers sustained injuries when supporters of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump clashed with protesters after he abruptly canceled a campaign rally.
However, Sanders leads Clinton very narrowly in IL 48 to 46 per cent, it said.
Trump told NBC that he is looking at paying the legal fees of the North Carolina puncher who was later arrested by police: “I’ve actually instructed my people to look into it, yes”.
While the delegates will be awarded proportionately, Clinton’s support with superdelegates – elected officials and party leaders free to back whomever they’d like – puts her in a strong position to win the nomination. “I’m here in OH”, he had said.
Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders: Called Mr Trump a “pathological liar” after he said he had sent protesters to disrupt his rallies.
Trump also leads in IL – 38 percent, followed by Cruz at 34 percent, Kasich at 16 percent and Rubio at 11 percent.
Mr. Kasich too has criticized the billionaire businessman while speaking to Ohioans around the state this weekend, calling Mr. Trump’s campaign “a toxic atmosphere dividing us”, while at a factory in a Licking County industrial park on Saturday.
Trump blamed supporters of Democratic candidate Sanders for the incidents in Chicago, where scuffles broke out between protesters and backers of the real estate magnate.
John Kasich told CNN Sunday that he wouldn’t be urging voters in Florida to support Sen.
Trump said during an appearance Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that he didn’t consider his post on social media to be a threat.
Florida Senator Marco Rubio: Said it is “harder every day to justify” backing Mr Trump should he win the Republican nomination and said conservatism is not about “how angry can you get, how offensive you can be, how loud you can speak”.
“Everybody’s not racist. Everybody’s not sexist”, she said of Trump’s supporters.
Donald Trump rejected responsibility Sunday for violence at his rallies and suggested his backers may retaliate by protesting Bernie Sanders events. “When I tell you I’m going to do something, I’m going to do it”.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vermont Sen. “Let’s just take a deep breath and see where it goes”.
