The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 Review: Disappointing? Why It’s The Worst

“Part 2” brought in $101 million in the US, the lowest out of the franchise’s four films.

“‘The Hunger Games’ series has stood as proof that, if properly handled, new massive brands can be created and can draw audiences around the world”, said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Rentrak.

The Hunger Games franchise is often dismissed for its Young Adult designation, but as far as the films are concerned (I haven’t read the books), they often showcase a maturity and sobriety that put many Old Adult efforts to shame. “She has to have a new idea and themes that she’s interested in and think up new stories to tell around the world of Panem. It was wonderful closure to this character who I’ve loved for so many years”. That statement isn’t entirely true in regards to Mockingjay – Part 2, as it is a better and much more entertaining movie than Mockingjay – Part 1, although that isn’t saying a lot. Once Katniss agrees to become the “Mockingjay”, the heavily tattooed Cressida and her camera crew (Messalla, Castor, and Pollux) are assigned to produce “propos” inciting the other Districts to join in the rebellion. “Josh and Liam got very codependent towards wrapping and we would change call times and ride the same auto and we just would not be anywhere apart”, Jennifer said. Now consider the two Mockingjay films have grossed over $1 billion worldwide on their own and Part 2 is only in its first weekend.

“Remember that line from the first “Hunger Games” film: “May the odds be ever in your favor”?” Normally, I’d say don’t bet against The Hunger Games, even in its second weekend, but it will have a few pretty steep competition next week.

This is the fourth and final Hunger Games, and what an epic journey this has been. Now the games come to an end. “She went down and luckily no one saw because it was at the back of the theater…I picked her up, she now only has one heel so I’m walking her out”.
