The iPhone 7 hits stores, some models are already sold out

Apple customers are already lining up outside stores in preparation for Friday, when the phones will be available in physical stores.

Folks without a reservation, however, will find only limited quantities of the silver, gold, rose gold, and black iPhone 7 at Apple retail stores.

Those models were sold out during the online pre-order period that began on September 9 and “will not be available for walk-in customers”, Apple said in a statement. What’s even worse is the fact that availability of the iPhone 7 will vary per partner location, so Apple is advising consumers to check directly with their nearby Apple store if the iPhone 7 color variant they are hoping to own this month is still available.

Apple previously had said that it would not release pre-order sales information for this latest pair of smartphones, as had been its custom, because it has confidence that the phones would sell out and sales would be limited only by its supply of phones.

One customer who declined to be named said, the most attractive parts of the new iPhone are the double lenses and the water-proof funtion.

But this week both Sprint and T-Mobile said they had received strong pre-orders for the iPhone 7, sending the shares soaring.

Also, have you seen that jet-black finish?!

Apple released a statement warning in-store customers that the iPhone 7 in Jet Black and all colors and sizes of the iPhone 7 Plus will be absent from the initial retail launch this Friday.

9to5Mac says this is news to the Apple fans waiting outside stores around the world.

Those opting for the larger iPhone 7 Plus will want to get acquainted with its dual cameras, which create richer photos and capture the depth in a shot when they’re used together.

According to a Bloomberg report, Apple overestimated demand for the iPhone 5c back in 2013 and was forced to cut orders from its suppliers.

In the United States, the first iPhone 7 deliveries will begin starting at approximately 8:00 a.m. local time, with the first deliveries occurring on the east coast.

“I’m just really excited about the new iPhone”, said Mr du Buf, when asked why he chose to come so early.

Analysts with Piper Jaffray and S&P Global Market Intelligence project Apple will sell 13 million iPhones this weekend, topping last year’s haul for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
