The company and the U.S. government issued a global recall – the largest ever for a smartphone – and Samsung has said it will be at least a few weeks before they put its flagship Note 7 back on sale. Limited numbers are available for purchase on the day in some locations, but not in the United Kingdom, where both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are totally wiped off the shelves except for preorders. On Apple’s website, currently, the wait time is 2-3 weeks.

The companies all announced free iPhone 7 deals that require customers to trade in a qualifying iPhone (iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, or iPhone 6s Plus) and agree to a two-year contract.
One sure way to get the iPhone is to order it online. Some of those who wanted the iPhone 7 Plus will eventually settle for the iPhone 7, while others who wanted the iPhone 7 anyway will not be affected by this issue if they were shooting for the other color options aside from Jet Black. The phone will come in rose gold, gold, silver, black, and jet black colours. That is because doing so usually reflects how many phones are available rather than how many people want them, it said – because stores always sell out, the number actually refers to how many phones Apple managed to make.

According to Slice Intelligence, which gathers its data from e-receipts, sales of the iPhone 7 Plus make up 55 percent of pre-orders in the US during the first 48 hours.
Friday is the day that Apple fanatics finally get their hands on the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus – if they were one of the lucky ones, that is.

Almost half (48 per cent) were found to upgrade their handsets every time a new iPhone comes out, while nearly a third (32 per cent) claimed their current device was coming to the end of its life.
