The Jungle Book rules at the box office
The movie tells the familiar tale in an unfamiliar way with characters voiced by Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong’o, Ben Kingsley, Christopher Walken and Bill Murray. In India the film has already overtaken the entire lifetime of Titanic and Life of Pi within just one week and is the third biggest Hollywood release ever, only behind Furious 7 and Jurassic World. The 37-year-old R&B star and the 30-year-old model were married in 2013. According to exit polls, 49% of ticket buyers were families, and 43% paid extra to see the movie in 3-D.

The Jungle Book dominated its first weekend in theaters, pulling in more than $103 million and proving that people will turn out for a familiar narrative and groundbreaking CGI animals.
To boost Hispanic turnout, the company secured a five-week partnership with Univision that saw “The Jungle Book” integrated into several facets of the network’s broadcasts, including sports, news and telenovelas.
Chuck Zlotnick/Chuck Zlotnick “Barbershop” starring Ice Cube (r.) and Nicki Minaj (c.) finished second in its opening weekend. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 has delivered a solid, if unimpressive, performance over four weeks; though its budget remains unreported, its estimated $3.3 million weekend, adding up to a $52.1 million domestic gross, is likely a success.
Action-thriller “London Has Fallen” came in second place during the week, pulling in $21 million, Xinhua news agency reported. Joining the team in the latest installment is Common, Nicki Minaj and Regina Hall.Costner plays a Central Intelligence Agency agent whose mind is implanted with the memories of a dead operative.

Melissa McCarthy’s “The Boss” followed in the third place with 10.2 million dollars, a 56.9 percent drop compared with last weekend. The story of a business icon whose career is derailed by insider trading has earned $10.2 million in two weeks of release.
