‘The Jungle Book’ Shines at Indian Box Office

While the Saturday collections were Rs 13.51 crore, on Sunday, the film earned Rs 16.59 crore in the country. The film made its way onto the screens in India a week ahead of its release in the US. Writer Justin Marks and director Jon Favreau are in negotiations to return, with Favreau producing.

Mumbai: Filmmaker Jon Favreau’s 3D live-animation adventure fantasy film “The Jungle Book” has received an overwhelming response at the box office in India and raked in over Rs. 20 crore in just two days since its release. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the numbers of the box office collections. The picture has minted Rs. 10.09 cr.at the box office.

The Jungle Book, which observed a dash that is mad with parents thronging theatres using their tiny tots to view the brand new launch, has become the second-highest opener of 2016 so far after Akshay Kumar’s Airlift beating Hollywood biggies and additional Bollywood.

#TheJungleBook had 33.89% growth on Sat over Friday and 64.42% growth on Sun over Friday.

Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, Scarlett Johansson are among the actors lending their voices to the film. ‘The Jungle Book’ has left a huge impact on everyone with its reinvented strong storyline and the most important factor of the film is that it has targeted kids to adults and everyone.

Hindi-dubbed version of the movie features Irrfan Khan as Baloo, Priyanka Chopra as Kaa, Nana Patekar as Shere Khan, Om Puri as Bagheera, Shefali Shah as Raksha and Bugs Bhargava Krishna as King Louie.
