‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ scriptwriter arrested on charges of murder
And yet, this isn’t a fictitious happening – nor some absurd farce.

Scriptwriter of “The Kapil Sharma Show” was arrested by Uttar Pradesh police from Mumbai. According to the reports, Ram Abhishek Singh alias Kera Singh is a criminal and absconded from UP.
Kera, his father, and his uncle allegedly shot dead two people, and gravely wounded three, at a former village headman’s home in Azamgarh’s Mau Parashan village. This was in 2009.
Singh, along with his uncle Manoj, had killed a rival villager. Ram and Manoj had Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 50,000 cash rewards on their heads, respectively.
How did Singh survive on the lam for so many years?
Abhishek Singh alias Kera, who was associated with K9 production and wrote scripts for “The Kapil Sharma Show”, was arrested by the UP Special Task Force (STF) on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in a shootout.
The STF found a voter identity and PAN card in the name of Rohit Singh at his rented quarters. Kera got married too, taking as his wife a woman working with a multinational firm in Bangkok. Presumably she was not aware of his past. After getting bail in the case, his father and other family members had shifted to Allahabad.

Singh himself has a degree in Mass Communications, in addition to an MBA, which helped him find a job in the entertainment industry in Mumbai, reported the International Business Times. “Intelligence gathering revealed that he (Abhishek) had acted in as many as nine episodes of Great Indian Family Drama apart from another serial titled Code Red which are available on YouTube”, said additional SP STF Arvind Chaturvedi, who led the operation.
