The Last Guardian hit with another delay… this time to December 6
Because of this, the game has been moved from its 25th of October release date to the 7th of December in the U.S. and 9th of December in Europe.

According to Yoshida, it seems that numerous bugs have caused the game’s release to be pushed back. “A delay is a hard decision, particularly with this game, but we have encountered more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development”.

Many have high hopes for The Last Guardian, me included, so I’d rather see the game released to its full potential rather than rushed out the door.
Considering the timing of the recent PS4 Pro announcement, we can’t help but wonder if at least part of the reason for the delay is to add PS4 Pro support and whether The Last Guardian will be among the lineup of upcoming PS4 Pro games. Sony has just sent out the word that the game needs even further time to polish up from what seems like an eternity of delays in the first place.
So, here we are; it’s the middle of September and The Last Guardian is inching closer and closer to becoming a reality. The news was announced at Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, putting an end to years of speculation and groaning from fans who have waited a long time for the release of the long-gestating game. But that doesn’t mean the games aren’t lacking in emotional experiences.

In 2012, after missing its 2011 release window and being firmly placed in “development hell”, Yoshida revealed that the development team had run into significant technical issues with The Last Guardian and that they were “much harder to solve” than originally thought. It began development back in 2007, a year after the PS3 launched, but became stuck in development hell.
