The decision follows two nights of peaceful protests; St. Louis County police haven’t made arrests or reports of injuries on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. Police detectives said they wounded the 18-year-old after he shot at them.

On Sunday, a group of 600 people stood in silence for four and a half minutes at the Michael Brown memorial in Ferguson, Missouri, to commemorate the slaying of the 18-year-old black young man by a white police officer exactly a year ago. Police used smoke to disperse the crowd.
