HTC and UA’s HealthBox looks like an interesting option for folks that really want to dive deep into their fitness to help them learn and improve.
Finally, HTC and Under Armour’s partnership has yielded results.
UA Band works like any other fitness tracker and it tracks the daily activity, workouts, sleep and pit it against a daily workout goal. It is available now for preorder on UA.com and HTC.com. There’s also the UA Heart Rate that monitors heart rate and intensity especially during workouts. The UA Headphones Wireless retail for $180, whereas the latter retails for $250.
The UA Heart Rate monitor features micro snap technology to provide comfort during workouts.
All the data gathered from the Band, Scale, shoes can be fed into the UA Record app, which is created to give you a picture of your overall health.
Last but not least is the UA Scale, which is a connected scale that works with the UA Record app to feed back both weight as well as body fat measurements.
Next up is the UA Scale, a connected scale that acts similarly in a way to your average weight scale. They also sync with the Record app and, perhaps best of all, they never need to be charged – Under Armour says that the battery contained inside the shoes will outlast their treads.
Not included in the box are a new pair of Under Armour activity-tracking sneakers, as well as wireless headphones made in collaboration with JBL. The HealthBox becomes available for consumers to pre-order and in stores on January 22. And now, with HTC’s help, the company is making a big splash in fitness tech from CES 2016 in Las Vegas. All day activity capture allows you to set a daily goal and track progress on the band.
Under Armour chief digital officer Robin Thurston says we know more about our cars than our bodies. It’s a new connected fitness system that manages a person’s health and fitness.
The Connected Products line is on display at the Consumer Electronics Show located in the Under Armour booth (#74316). Michael Phelps, Buster Posey, and Tony Romo are present at CES as part of Under Armour’s promotion. To learn more about the suite of products and UA Record, go to UA.com/HealthBox.
