The Lego Batman Movie’s latest hilarious new trailer introduces Robin

It will reportedly touch on pretty much every era of Batman from his beginnings over 75 years ago all the way up to modern day things even including recent movies such as Batman v Superman.

To be honest, we were already sold on The LEGO Batman Movie based on that incredibly amusing teaser alone, but after getting our first look at The Joker and Robin (and Harley Quinn!) earlier this week, we’ve been looking forward to watching a full trailer for the mini-Dark Knight’s animated adventure.

This version of Batman caught everyone’s attention in the Oscar-nominated animation movie The Lego Movie’. Robin’s fanboying over Batman and Batman’s reactions is just priceless. You can certainly see the unique take on Robin in his debut photo. Chris McKay, who worked as an animation co-director on the pic, is directing the spinoff film from a script by Pride and Prejudice and Zombies writer Seth Grahame-Smith.

In this Lego movie, there’s an explanation for Robin’s iconic pantless costume: as Robin tries on costumes from Bruce’s closet, he eventually picks a certain Reggae Man’s as his own – but he doesn’t like the fit of the trousers: “Rip!”

During today’s Warner Bros. panel, it was revealed that not only will Affleck star in the as-yet-untitled movie, but he’ll also step behind the camera to direct. But the introduction of Dick Grayson/Robin (voiced by Michael Cera) and Barbara Gordon/Batgirl (voiced by Rosario Dawson) turns his super-secret double life as a crime fighter upside down. As far as voice work is concerned, Warner Bros., has brought out its big guns with the voice talent of Michael Cera as Robin, and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, according to Indie Wire.
