The latest promo for director Ridley Scott’s “The Martian” delves into the archives of the “Ares 3” mission to Mars, as the crew is interviewed by a NASA psychiatrist after 10 days of isolation and forced to confront some hard truths.
Yeah, this movie is gonna be awesome.
As if you needed more of a reason to be excited for Ridley Scott’s upcoming adaptation of The Martian, Andy Weir’s best-selling novel about a lone survivor’s struggle after being abandoned on Mars, here it is.
Damon stars as astronaut Mark Watney, and his crewmates include Peña, Chastain, Aksel Hennie, Sebastian Stan, and Kate Mara. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of global scientists work tirelessly to bring The Martian, while his crew mates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible, rescue mission. Like, what’s the deal with Aquaman’s powers?

This time we get to see Jessica Chastain having no truck with sexist questions, Michael Pena being comic relief again, and Matt Damon reenacting one of the funniest parts of Good Will Hunting… messing with psychiatrists. Fox will be releasing the film in theaters on October 2, 2015.
