The Michigan Democratic Party Reacts to the Debate

Bernie Sanders, the independent from neighboring Vermont, clocked in at %. But they all ended up with very similar results, and the NBC/SurveyMonkey poll in particular is highly respected in the field as using sound methodological techniques. The first Democratic contest saw a confident and substantive performance from the former secretary of state, who said she would not be seeking voters’ approval based on her last name.

The 28-member focus group study by the Fox News also found that while half Democrats supported Clinton prior to Tuesday’s debate, the proportion dropped to about 14 percent after the debate.

And he was right when he said, in his closing remarks: “We should not be the country that has the highest rate of childhood poverty of any major country and more wealth and income inequality than any other country”. For the most part, DeGeneres grilled Sanders on lighter questions, including who his favorite One Direction member is, whether he prefers boxers or briefs, and what his go-to karaoke tune is. Less than one per cent of those polled believed that either former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb – were minor players before the debate and emerged much the same.

Clinton’s significant savings, however, will give her campaign a few breathing room as it heads into tough challenges in February in Iowa and New Hampshire, where Sanders has risen quickly in polls. The admission shows how CNN stage managed the debate to maximize Clinton’s position and strike a blow against the GOP investigations.

According to Brandwatch, a social media analysis platform, Sanders was mentioned 407,000 times on Tuesday night, far exceeding mentions of the rest of the debate participants combined.

Among women, Clinton leads Sanders 41 percent to 34 percent while Sanders leads Clinton 37 percent to 31 percent among men.

Clinton has a strong lead on the question of which candidate can beat the Republican nominee in the general election.

Pollsters also asked about the ongoing saga of Clinton’s emails, and 62 percent of those polled said they weren’t bothered by it.

Meanwhile in New Hampshire, Jeb Bush told a town hall that Sanders was “just warming up” when it came to tax and spending proposals.
