The moment Bernie Sanders officially threw the nomination to Hillary Clinton
He spoke to the NY delegation Tuesday morning.

Chair of the Democratic National Committee, Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, approved the motion after a unanimous voice vote and members of the crowd erupted into cheers as they held up new Clinton signs.
During an address that hit hard on themes of childhood, race and gender, she spoke about the visit of a five-year-old black boy to the White House who wanted to know if the President’s hair was like his.
But the convention belonged to Clinton, who will take on Republican Donald Trump in November. The experience of becoming a grandmother, in particular, seems to have softened Clinton as a candidate, helping her become more comfortable grounding her candidacy on her personal background and family story.
Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin, whose death inspired the Black Lives Matter movement, will also take the stage to speak on behalf of Mrs Clinton.
Tuesday night wasn’t all celebratory.
“On behalf of all the women who’ve broken down barriers for others, and with an eye toward the barriers still ahead, I proudly place Hillary Clinton’s name in nomination to be the next President of the United States of America”, Mikulski said.
Trump cheered the disruptions from the campaign trail.
Sanders has implored his supporters to not protest during the convention, but he’s struggled to control his energized backers. “I liked her speech”.
The Democratic National Convention, hosted by Philadelphia, runs until Thursday.
Sections of the convention hall were left conspicuously unpopulated on Tuesday night as delegates from strongly pro-Sanders delegations, including California, walked out after Sanders moved that Clinton be named the nominee.
“Because of Hillary Clinton, my daughters, and all our sons and daughters, now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States”, Obama said.
Some Sanders supporters had called out at some points early in Obama’s speech, but were shushed. “What we’re really going to focus on tonight is telling that story, and telling her story, talking about the fights of her life”.
“Yes, we do break barriers”.
“In this election, I’m with her”.
“But I must tell you Michelle Obama made me cry”.
Barack Obama: president of the United States and captain of all our hearts.
Obama also mentioned Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine, arguing that he will show USA youth what decency and devotion look like.
Clinton can however draw on political lesson learned after her long career in the glare of the public spotlight.
After the speech, the president chimed in on Twitter with praise for his wife. The only person “who I trust with that responsibility”, she said, is “our friend Hillary Clinton”. This year, he – and she – were criticized after he met privately with Attorney General Loretta Lynch in the middle of the FBI’s investigation into her email use at the State Department.

In a nod to disgruntled Bernie Sanders supporters, Obama recalled how Clinton swallowed her pride and joined the Obama administration after losing in 2008.
