The moment CM Punk tapped out at UFC 203
And while CM Punk vs. Mickey Gall wasn’t a match of two gargantuan figures in the MMA sphere, it was very much a big fight. “Just like I said with Brock, having your first fight with the UFC is tough, and you see tonight, even if it’s up against a guy who’s 2-0, this is a tough place to learn”. This is a hell of a mountain to try to climb, and I didn’t get to the summit today, but it doesn’t mean I’m gonna give up.

The former WWE champion, 37, was eventually caught in a rear-naked choke hold and there was never going to be a way back for him once Gall had that locked in.
Mickey Gall and Sage Northcutt made their way to the UFC through company president Dana White’s reality series Lookin’ for a Fight.
“I know there’s doubters, but life is about falling down and getting back up”.
“I tell you what, fair play to him, cause he got in there to fall”, Conor, 28, told TMZ Sports while out in Hollywood after the fight. “Doesn’t matter how many time you get knocked down, get back up”.
The former WWE star switched to mixed martial arts nearly two years ago but injury had prevented him from fighting until last weekend in Ohio. “But I know I’m better than that”, he said.
This is two years of training, but CM Punk is also 38 as he enters a sport that is probably too hard for him at this point to catch up. I like him. I have a lot of respect for him and he wanted to give it a shot. I was just taking my time.

“It [the Punk fight] was a real opportunity for me”. He was an easy target for #Mickey Gall on Saturday night at the crowded house of the UFC 203 in Cleveland’s Quickens Loan Arena. “I told him everyone else is going to say that about you throughout your entire career, why are you going to say that about yourself?” I’m not just going to shove it and leave it in the middle of the street. “I think that’s a possibility”, he said during the post-fight interview.
