The Negatives & Positives for New York Giants after Win on…
Grimes has now been exposed by three top-flight receivers (Odell Beckham went for 166 yards on seven catches Monday, and much of that production came against the Dolphins Pro Bowl corner).

Eli Manning, who had as many touchdown passes as incompletions in a terrific game (27 of 31 for 337 yards), threw low and to the outside and Beckham went down and got it. First down.
After the game, Beckham said at his locker that the Giants prepared for the Dolphins like a playoff game and must continue to do so over the next three weeks as they push for the post-season.
“Well, I know for me it comes from a team that’s dying for a win right now and we’re going to get everything they’ve got”, Campbell said of the Chargers. And I think he’s well aware of that, and well aware of his role in leading us to compete and have a chance to win. His passer rating of 151.5 was his highest since 2009, and his 87 percent completion percentage was a career best.
While the Giants’ win placed them back in contention for first while effectively ending their three-game losing streak, they can not afford to lose any more games this season if they plan on making their playoff dreams a reality. The tactic appeared to work as the Giants played about as complete of a game as they have this year since their Week 4 win at Buffalo.
-PASS DEFENSE: C. The Giants managed to get five hits and one sack against quarterback Ryan Tannehill, but they did so by doing a bit more blitzing with the safeties than they have in past games.
The game-winning touchdown was an 84-yarder to Beckham with 11:13 left in the fourth quarter.
The 23-year-old Beckham, who was New York’s No. 1 draft pick in 2014, has had six straight games with 100 or more yards receiving, a Giants record. On offense, the Giants ran an up-tempo offense that was particularly effective late in the game in wearing out the Dolphins’ defensive front.
Miami safety Reshad Jones blamed miscommunication.
With the Dolphins officially out of the playoff picture, Campbell said he will look to some younger players down the stretch. And, of course, he has Odell Beckham Jr.to thank for that kind of success, according to the New York Daily News.
The New York Giants aren’t dead yet!
In the second, Reuben Randle hauled in Eli Manning’s first TD pass of the evening, a 6-yard score.
The highlight came towards the end of the third quarter with the Giants trailing 24-17. And with the score 24-24, he took advantage of broken coverage to score the go-ahead touchdown. Check. The consistent ability of Andre Williams to run 1 yard right into the butt of an offensive lineman?
After Washington and Philadelphia won on Sunday, Monday’s game for the Giants was a must-win. “I tried to get the ball to him quickly, and didn’t make the throw”. The latter pass was initially ruled incomplete because Beckham was out of bounds, but the decision was overturned by a replay review that made the score 24-24.
“It does keep us alive”, Coughlin said. Lamar Miller rushed for 89 yards but carried only 12 times, and Campbell said he was nursing a sore ankle in the second half.
“Manning played superbly, and I had a good feeling that he would”, said head coach Tom Coughlin postgame. He briefly lay motionless when he was injured covering the kickoff to start the second half, but walked off the field….
