While seasonal beverages are an expected part of Starbucks’ rotating menu, new fall drinks at the chain have an impressive legacy to live up to.
Summer is officially winding down, but Starbucks has the flawless remedy to cure end-of-summer blues and keep customers feeling warm this fall: A Pumpkin Spice Latte chat bot.
It’s baa-ack, and more than a week earlier than past year.
The Chile Mocha, inspired by a thick Mexican drink called champurrado, is made with espresso and steamed milk infused with a cocoa and cinnamon powder. Starting on September 6, Starbucks locations across the nation will be whipping up this hot new seasonal menu addition. To get the drink early you need to use a special code. “That’s not a thing!'” And you can hit back by reminding them that the PSL really is made with pumpkin puree, according to The New York Daily News.
This 13-year old drink has turned into quite the craze, as more than 200 million PSLs have been served since the latte was born in 2003. If you’re someone who’s always wished hot chocolate should be a little less sweet, you should give the Chile Mocha a try.
