The Open 2015 live: Leaderboard and latest scores as Dustin Johnson and

We made birdie and got into tied lead and John (Smart, caddy) said you might as well enjoy the next hole because you’re leading The Open – we’d only played five holes at that point.

The 21-year-old Spieth is attempting to become the first player since fellow American Ben Hogan in 1953 to win the first three majors of the season.

None of it mattered to Johnson, who showed no interest in the debate. He awoke at 5 a.m. local time to torrential rain that waterlogged the fairways and greens on the Old Course and led to play being suspended for more than three hours.

Piercy birdied four of the first five holes.

Tiger Woods also looked set to say his goodbye – at least for this year – as the former world number one once again struggled against his own personal dimming of the light. The 31-year-old holds a one-stroke lead over Danny Willett.

“Hopefully we can be there in two days’ time. It must have just kept going”.

“You can understand the frustration from everybody really – fans, players and the officials that they’ve been put in this situation”.

England’s Danny Willett faced another long wait to see where he stood in the weather-affected Open Championship at St Andrews on Saturday.

Judging by his comments earlier in the week, Johnson would probably prefer to be close to the lead in the world’s oldest major at Muirfield or Royal Lytham. Phil Mickelson found a few trouble on 11, tries the flop shot out of the tall bunker but it hits the lip and lands right back at his feet.

“There’s every chance someone could go out and overtake us”.

Johnson was not phased despite mother nature’s best efforts to throw him off of his game. But, of course, that still begs the question who exactly is Willett?

You could read his lips as he embraced his wife, Hilary. The two almost never have debates about club selection. Adam Scott and Steve Williams are the same way, as are Phil Mickelson and Jim Mackay.

“No chat about the U.S. Open at all, as I wouldn’t imagine there would be, other than talking about the differences in the course”, Spieth said.

“”(But) DJ and I couldn’t get anything going between us. “Looking at the leaderboard, it’s still a little bit surreal”.

St Andrews (United Kingdom) (AFP) – Dustin Johnson was in the driving seat in the British Open on Friday on a day when wild weather caused havoc with the schedule and Tom Watson and Nick Faldo said their goodbyes. “It’s tough. If they felt like there wasn’t a problem then it was just unlucky”. Woods appears to have reached his professional nadir, while Johnson is playing some of the best golf of his life.

Unfortunately for him, the 72nd at Chambers Bay is still fresh. It’s hard not to wonder what the answer might be.

It was a monumental mistake for the R&A to send Johnson and Co into the jaws of the gales battering this Open into next week at 7am yesterday.
