The People’s Elbow: Justin Trudeau Apologizes For Jostling Politician
With a turban proudly on his head and a chest full of medals for his Canadian community service, he rose to his feet in the public gallery of the House of Commons and shouted the phrase for all to hear.

Re: “NDP MP says Trudeau elbowed her, PM apologizes”, March 19.
Liberals, who today are slavishly excusing Trudeau’s assaults on Brown and Brosseau as “minor”, would have been furiously tweeting about what a bully and dictator Harper was.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggested on Thursday that a C$30 billion budget deficit was not a hard limit as the government’s focus should be on spurring economic growth.
“We started this parliament with the promise of ‘sunny ways, ‘ but what we’ve seen in particular in the last few weeks is the furthest thing from that”, Rona Ambrose, leader of the official opposition Conservative Party told the chamber.
Trudeau apologised several times this week, including one apology directed at Brosseau.
Trudeau’s behavior left Opposition members with a bitter taste.
“It is important because we are here to serve Canadians, and Canadians deserve to have their concerns expressed fully and fairly in a direct and dignified manner”.
“I refuse to think there was any justification of my behaviour…it was on me, it was my mistake, unbecoming of any member including myself”.
The second apology was more honest than the one on Wednesday, which attempted to justify his behaviour, said Ramsey.
Brosseau’s colleague, Niki Ashton, said she was “ashamed” to witness the “deeply traumatic” incident, using language most American college students would find familiar.
NDP MP Ruth Ellen Brosseau asks a question during Question Period in the House of Commons in Ottawa on Thursday, May 28, 2015.
“Trudeau appeared compulsive and not prime ministerial, although I thought much of what the opposition was saying and doing did not put them in a positive light”, Wiseman said Not everyone was so concerned about Trudeau’s move. “The WSO has written to provincial ministers calling for the Komagata Maru incident to be included in school curricula across the country”, he said.
I can’t decide which is richer in layer upon layer of irony: Self-proclaimed feminist and liberal heartthrob Justin Trudeau’s elbowing a female member of the Canadian Parliament-or the Gender Studies 101 reaction of another female membe of Parliament who witnessed the incident. So to characterize elbowgate, as members of Parliament have in the Commons this week, as being at all related to such gendered violence belittles the experience of real victims, she explained.
“I think it’s hilarious that this issue is actually news here in Canada!”. “He has very little experience in the working world and is probably accustomed to getting his way all the time. We must make sure to never repeat them”. “It’s just not something that’s done”, he said. “I’ve never seen anything like this before and I have been there since Jean Chrétien and he was known for his colourful representations, but he never crossed the line like this”.
Known as Motion 6, it would have given the Liberal government unilateral control over the parliamentary agenda as it scrambles to push through its bills, including the medically assisted suicide Bill C14 before a June 6 deadline. But he was non-committal faced with Opposition fury and calls for him to withdraw a controversial and provocative motion that was the backdrop of the Wednesday night scuffle.

Trudeu said that he would accept any punishment meted out by a special committee of legislator examining the incident. “I was shaking…it is completely inappropriate what happened”.
