Clowney starred at South Carolina and entered the NFL draft following his junior season with the Gamecocks.

The long-awaited return of Texans outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney is set for Monday when he’ll be activated from the physically unable to perform list. John McClain, one of the biggest voices for the Texans confirmed the reports that Clowney will be a participant. That suggests the Texans are confident that he’ll be ready to play sooner than six weeks into the regular and that he they think there’s a chance he could start contributing in even a limited role come the start of the regular season.

O’Brien said after the 23-10 victory over San Francisco that Clowney will be on the practice field Monday. “He’s worked really hard to get back to where he is right now, and we’re all looking forward to seeing him back out there on the field, because we know he can help us”.

With J.J. Watt, newly added veteran nose tackle Vince Wilfork and Jared Crick stacking the Texans’ imposing defensive line, Clowney will face much less pressure than he did during his hyped rookie year.
