“We’re very pleased that on the basis of student surveys, Rice was ranked No. 1 in the country by the Princeton Review for the best quality of student life, which reflects a broad range of measures”, Rice President David Leebron said.

The rankings are based on surveys of 136,000 students (average 358 per campus) at the 380 colleges in the book in 2014-15 and/or the previous two school years. The rankings are primarily influenced by student responses to questions regarding the use of alcohol and drugs on their campuses, the number of hours spent studying per day and the popularity of sororities and fraternities. Additionally, we give considerable weight to observations from our school visits, opinions of our staff and our 23-member National College Counselor Advisory Board, and an unparalleled amount of feedback we get from our surveys of students attending these schools.
