‘The Punisher’ Series Coming to Netflix Next Year? Maybe!
During Netflix’s presentation at the TCA press tour, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos revealed that new seasons of “Daredevil” and “Jessica Jones” and the first season of “Punisher” wouldn’t arrive until 2018.

Thanks to a screen pulled from Netflix’s mobile app, we may now know when exactly the streaming service plans to debut the first season of The Punisher, a spinoff born from the character’s impressive debut in season 2 of Daredevil. It would arrive after Iron Fist, Luke Cage and The Defenders series, all of which have been teased in recent months. Initial reports said that the new show wouldn’t be released until 2018 based on Netflix’s strategy of releasing individual seasons of two Marvel shows per year.
Now, though, a landing page for The Punisher has been found in the mobile app (you can literally just search for The Punisher and it’s right there).
“After the murder of his family, Frank Castle is both haunted and hunted”. It appears Jon Bernthal will get his own series as The Punisher sooner than expected. But now, there are new rumors swirling about the upcoming Netflix slate for the studio.
The significance for The Punisher placeholder is that it’s outside of Netflix’s normal pattern to post them for shows more than a year in advance. First, Netflix lists no date whatsoever (for the record, there’s no date on Iron Fist or Defenders pages either).

Still, the landing page is a positive step in the direction of Marvel’s The Punisher coming to life once more, this time in his own series. In either scenario, at least we’re getting Luke Cage on September 30 of this year!
