The real meaning of Christmas for me is love
In the malls and on the city streets, the decorations are coming down, too. “I want them to have a good taste of food with beef different from what they are offered inside the prison”.

This is the reason Jesus’ story has received more scrutiny and criticism than anything else.
In this Christmas season, may our hearts prepare room for the Savior.
Over these past few weeks as I prepared for Christmas services at our local church and the wider community, I wondered how many people ONLY have the baby Jesus as a reference point. They slice though our whole society, even the whole world.
I don’t believe in any gods or religions so Christmas is about family for me – 0%.
When anyone reads the birth of Christ or CHRISTMAS story the historic account comes from what is considered by all of Christiandom and evidently, the World at large based on the Bible (what was known and revered for generations as The Holy Bible). These are the unique ways to celebrate Christmas.
The real question, however, is this: What place does Jesus have in your life? Pray for your church’s life in this season to be Christ centered. That he came to be born among us, born as one of us, in poverty and as a refugee, that we might know that he is always among us, even at our darkest hour. The spirit of Christmas is realized far more in the giving than in the receiving of gifts, and there is no greater gift than that of oneself-time, talent and treasure-to others.
The good news is, somehow the celebrations manage to coexist.
As Christmas approaches, it is a time of year to be grateful. Hope is something we are called to bring into the world in the name of Christ.
Christmas, on the other hand, is supposed to be celebrated because of its special significance for all humankind, in that it meant enabling sinners to escape from being burned with unquenchable fire and from being eaten by millions of worms, without let up yet, for all eternity.
On behalf of Bishop-emeritus Gerald A. Gettelfinger and myself, I take this opportunity to wish you a Blessed Christmas and Grace-filled New Year. We think if we just keep doing more we will feel more of the Christmas spirit. When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. “We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him”. Why let it go to waste?
