The Real Reason Kevin Durant Left Oklahoma City
After Kevin Durant announced that he will be joining the Golden State Warriors, rumors about his former teammate Russell Westbrook leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder started flying.

USA Today reports that Durant didn’t go outside because he wanted to “be around family and positive support”.
“The two days after I didn’t leave my bed because if I walk outside somebody might try to hit me with their auto”, Durant said. “I just stayed in”. I was trying to process it all.
Mike Tyson once said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. “I would love to go back in my day and “hey let me call Michael Jordan and Larry Bird and Magic Johnson and let’s just dominate the National Basketball Association”. “I really respect their team, but I just felt like they were a couple of years away from where I wanted to be”.
Coming off a historic 73-win season, one which included a Western Conference Final victory over the Durant’s very own Thunder squad, the Warriors were the last team anyone expected to sign the 27-year-old.
In an open letter to Durant posted on The Undefeated, Lil B wrote that he removed the curse because Durant had shown “humility” by going to the Golden State Warriors. And while Durant denied any rift with Westbrook, his preference for the Warriors, which encompasses their playing style and players, came through loud and clear. Of course, there might also be a strike by that point, and then who knows what’s going to happen with free agency. Current Warriors fans hope the analogies continue. “If I think about that, I’ll be fine”. Griffin seems to be happy in Los Angeles with the Clippers, and has been the player who first helped them take the steps from obscurity towards becoming the best team in the city, while finally giving the most ridiculed franchise in the league a marketable player. “He signed a one-year contract with a player option”. “I mean we didn’t really talk about anything at all”.
But you can’t fault Durant for making the decision he did; you can’t fault him for not wanting to continue to play with Westbrook.

The Warriors can not afford to let Curry have any Durant-like sit downs with any teams, a deal must either be done during the upcoming season or soon as possible afterwards.
