As promised yesterday with the arrival of new images, the full-length trailer for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Revenant has arrived to screen this weekend with 20th Century Fox’s other major fall movie, The Martian (our review). Earlier on in the year trouble struck the shoot, pushing back filming on the movie’s climactic ending. It was shot entirely in natural light by cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki.

The intense, real-life storyline follows Glass’ quest for survival in the American wilderness after he is left for dead by his hunting team after being brutally attacked by a bear.
His injuries allow John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) to take over, and that includes murdering’s Glass’s “half-breed son” right in front of him and abandoning Glass in a shallow grave to die. Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.
Oscar-winning Birdman director Alejandro G Iñárritu’s new film has seen members of its crew fired, extras injured, and its producer banned from set.

The film will have a limited release Christmas Day before going wide January 8, 2016.
