The Rock Starring In Another Disney Movie
There’s no director aboard yet, though “Focus” filmmakers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra will write the script. John Davis and John Fox will produce for Davis Entertainment. The film will apparently have Dwayne Johnson joining the project, as originally reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Disney has wanted to make this movie for years, ever since the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Beyond being an adventure based movie, there is talk that the vibe will be keeping with the ride itself and be more of a throwback to an earlier time.
Making movies from the theme of the rides has been on Disney’s mind for a while now, and the Jungle Cruise themed movie will be the next one after the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies. The film will be based on the Disney ride of the same title, which features a cruise down the Nile and Amazon rivers as it takes thrill seekers on a tour through the wild jungles.

Will Jungle Cruise benefit from the same lack of rules? Fired up about this one. Plus, Ryan Gosling is now attached to topline a Haunted Mansion movie for the House of Mouse, so it’s clear we’re beginning to see the trend come back to the fore. “Here we go”. Johnson’s schedule is busy and Disney hasn’t been in any rush yet, so they’re probably waiting for the right script and moment to strike. Johnson recently wrapped production on “Central Intelligence”, which bows next summer, and he’s expected to shoot the comedy “Baywatch” at the start of 2016. Requa and Ficarra, whose writing credits also include Cats & Dogs and Bad Santa, are repped by CAA and McKuin Frankel.
