The Rockets Looked, Uh, Unenthused After Harden Hit The Game-Winner

It doesn’t change the series, Golden State will win.

“You want to get proper feedback and not hide things”.

The Rocket players were not impressed with that game-winner or they must really hate Harden.

Rockets CEO Tad Brown thinks Barkley is qualified to dole out such a statement – in a way.

Steve Curry sat for Game 3 of Golden State’s first-round series against the Houston Rockets.

“I cost us the game”, Green said. Even though the Warriors would outscore the Rockets 78-66 in the next three quarters, the 13-point cushion the Houston Rockets established in the first period would prove the difference. While they scratched and clawed their way back from a 17-point deficit to take a lead into the final minute of the game, they fell 97-96 in Game 3 to the Houston Rockets on Thursday. That play prevented Michael Beasley from catching an inbounds pass and led to a Warriors steal and basket to take the lead.

The NBA released a report Friday stating there were actually five missed calls in the final two minutes of the game, none more important than the contact on the game-winning step-back.

They failed to get an unlikely win at the ORACLE Arena, but even worse is that they failed to challenge the defending champions even when they were undermanned in the second game.

“I try to always be there for my team”, Harden said. “We made too many mistakes”. Patrick Beverley, by comparison, is seen as the ideal complement because he can function just fine without the ball in his hands, allowing Harden to work as the de facto point guard. He posted all eight of his points in the period inside the last 4:09, including a dunk and layup that pulled the Warriors within 78-72. Nobody can argue. Without Curry, they won Game 2 and dropped Game 3 on the road by a single point, with an opportunity to win before Draymond Green inexplicably dribbled the ball off his own leg.

From watching the game, it was clear right away that Harden had shoved off and a foul should have been called. They are 73-4 when they score 100 or more.

Curry was so convinced he could play in Game 3 that he didn’t bring a suit to wear on the sideline and was therefore unable to watch the game from the bench. While Curry’s ankle is improving, the team opted against playing him following four days of inactivity.
