The Server Shutdown Timeline For Disney Infinity Has Been Detailed

The email outlines the plans for the three different iterations of Disney Infinity across all platforms, including when certain online functionality will cease for each. Disney will continue to update the official Infinity website to provide more status updates. There is a question if, especially for Disney, the goodwill to keep these games running would be worth whatever maintenance costs to keep the mobile versions functional for a while longer. This means that if you play any Disney Infinity game on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, Wii U, Wii, 3DS, or Vita, you’ll only have to worry about the online services.

After Sept. 30, the Android, iOS and PC versions of Disney Infinity will no longer be playable.

Similarly, the Windows 8/10 (which is considered a separate entity from the PC version) and Apple TV versions will face a similar fate on 3rd March. It will still be possible to do so in the Steam version of Disney Infinity 3.0.

So, by the sounds of things, once we reach March 2017 the Windows (8/10) store versions of the game won’t be playable at all.

Firstly, the console versions of the game will remain untouched except for the online features, meaning figures and play sets will work normally, but players will no longer be able to access community content such as leaderboards or online multiplayer.

No in-game purchases can be made within the Windows 8/10 versions of the game as this feature will be removed. It states, “The console and Windows Store versions of Disney Infinity are still available for download from their respective online stores, but all online services will be retired on March 3, 2017″. Console versions will be playable but will have no online support or options.

You can read and try to make sense of the entire timeline according to the email Disney provided us below. Infinity 2.0 and 3.0 will remain online but no longer have online features, while all Apple TV versions of Infinity will be removed from the platform’s store.
