The Spectre X2 Is HP’s Answer To Microsoft’s Surface
The Spectre x2’s keyboard is also unlike what you’ll find on all but the most recent Surface models or the iPad Pro.

HP, known for its mid-range laptops and tablets like the Stream series and Mini desktops, will be outing its own 2-in-1, effectively breaking into the hybrid tablet business.
The SP4 actually boils/evaporates liquid inside a metal tube that touches the processor, and that vapor travels to two places inside the SP4 to condense back into a liquid: one to the fan, and the other under where the kickstand normally rests. The bar can happily support the tablet at any angle, creating a very precise and minimalist look.
The Surface Book – designed as “the ultimate laptop” features the latest Core-i Intel Skylake generation processor, 276PPI, 12 hours battery life, discrete (not motherboard mounted) NVIDIA graphics up to 16GB RAM and a 1TB super fast PCIe SSD. HP hasn’t skimped on the screen just because it’s small-the 1080p display uses an IPS panel. That’s substantially lower than the 2760×1824 display on the Surface, but most users aren’t likely to notice any major benefits of the larger resolution. It has an SD card reader and two USB-C connectors.
But perhaps the most interesting that about the Spectre x2 is its kickstand, which can be extended with the slide of a switch on the side of the tablet. There is also 4G connectivity and the device comes with HP DataPass allowing connection over LTE without a contract, with 250MB free per month. Also upping the Spectre X2 value are its media provisions such as three built-in cameras: a five-megapixel front camera, an eight-megapixel rear camera and Intel’s 3D RealSense camera on the back. It has chiclet keys. A large, oval-shaped trackpad sits below the keyboard tray while a wide speaker grille dominates the top.
Unlike the Spectre x2, the keyboard for this model does not come in the box. Unlike Microsoft’s tablet, the Spectre X2 ships with the keyboard dock. HP’s take on the digital pen concept is built by Wacom and has similar features to that of the Surface Pen.
