Mel B, who lives in LA with husband Stephen Belafonte, 40, and her three children has been with him for the past nine years.
“I mean, we definitely want to do something”, Mel explained.
“She’s insane but the producers took a view “fine we’ll get someone else”, because she is not very well known in America, amazingly”.
The singer also revealed that she’d be happy if one of her daughters turned out to be gay. “So we’ll see what happens”.
“Obviously looking after the kids is our priority and it can be hard to find time together, without them”.
She continued: “But Stephan can be quite romantic”.
“I think I’m the one putting all the rumors out there”.
In 2014, the star was dogged with questions about the state of her marriage when she missed one of the live finals and returned the following day without her wedding ring. Happily, I needn’t have anxious.
Mel B confirmed earlier this week that she has indeed met with Emma and Geri – and that reunion plans have been discussed.
And it seems the 37-year-old beauty isn’t the only familiar face being brought back as Simon, 56, is also keen to bag Louis Walsh, 63, who was dropped last year, and Sharon Osbourne, 63, when the show returns to screens later this year.
“I arrived in London on Tuesday and me, Geri and Emma have been hanging out as our schedules permitted to spend a bit of time together”.

Speaking to Economist Radio, he said: “A week before we were going to go into rehearsals, I get the news that she wants to do X Factor in Britain, having agreed everything”.
