RIHANNA will receive MTV’s highest honour at the network’s star-studded Video Music Awards in NY on Sunday night. However, it may surprise many to know that she isn’t even a nominee this year, despite having two videos.
Kanye West has been given four minutes of stage time at this years 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. According to TMZ, the American rapper has been given four minutes on stage which he can use to sing, dance or talk.
The VMAs pre-show airs on Sunday (Aug. 28) at 8 p.m. ET/PT right before the live show goes down at 9 p.m. on MTV.
“When you do a show at Madison Square Garden everyone brings it like that because it’s the Garden, it’s New York City, it’s the Mecca”. He then criticized MTV and awards shows, and discussed his love for the art of music. West’s first performance of the Saint Pablo tour was August 25, so it’s possible he could do a few songs from The Life of Pablo and his tour set. While that doesn’t rule out some sort of appearance as a performer or on-stage presenter, it could make for the first show she’s missed since 2011.
Kanye West has always made waves (heh) at the VMAs. Alongside Kanye, the VMA’s will feature performances from Future, Ariana Grande with Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears with G-Eazy, Nick Jonas with Ty Dolla $ign, and the Chainsmokers with Halsey.
One of the anticipated planned moments includes Rihanna receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
