The release features three new original songs “Drag Queen”, “Threat of Joy”, “Oblivious”, and a “Oblivious” remix by Fab Moretti.

It all began with the tortured affair of 2011’s ‘Angles’, full of inter-band tensions and studio pressure, a record the band aimed to nearly immediately put right through 2013’s ‘Comedown Machine’. Cult Records’ website, meanwhile, now has the old Strokes logo on it with a hashtag of #futurepresentpast. Pre-order the EP on iTunes HERE.

Speaking to Gigwise about progress on new music past year, guitarist Albert Hammond Jr said: “My personality just doesn’t allow for that so I keep The Strokes on the side until I have something going on”.

The Strokes are teasing that they will play new songs when they appear at this year’s Governors Ball music festival in June.
