The stuff-finding Tile now helps you find your phone

When you lose something and are unable to find it anywhere near you then all you have to do is alert the Tile Hive Mind, what this will do is it will automatically enable every Tile user’s phone search and all of their phones will start searching for your lost item.

When Tile co-founders Mike Farley and Nick Evans spoke to MobileSyrup in 2013, they said they would try to release yearly hardware updates for their innovative Bluetooth tracker. Finally, the new Tile is three times louder than the last model, ringing at 90 decibels.

The new Tile has also updated its app to help users who have lost their phone, allowing for the system to call a phone when lost, and has added an Apple Watch app. The gadget is not smaller than the first-generation Tile, which may be a disappointment to some, but it’s still compact enough to easily slip onto any keychain, purse pocket or backpack. You can also use Tile’s web app to locate your phone if you’ve lost both your phone and your Tile, and you can turn your phone into a virtual Tile to give to someone else.

If you’ve never heard of the Tile before, that’s OK, but it might be worth your time to check this little piece of technology out.

Placing a location-tracking Tile on you stuff has become a good way to keep you from pulling up all the couch cushions in your house when you misplace your auto keys. Just tap the Tile’s “e” button twice and it will play a short, loud tune on your smartphone, as long as it’s within 100 feet. At the same time, you can also log in to the Tile website and locate your mobile device on a map. And now, with the announcement of a second generation Tile, it’s getting even better. Not only this, Mr. Legere is further sweetening the deal for the customers by giving away 50 units of Tile on Twitter for absolutely free.
