The Super Bowl is coming to Miami in 2020
Now the city’s Super Bowl drought since 2000 will come to an end.

The 2019 Super Bowl will take place in a $1.5 billion stadium that the Atlanta Falcons will move into in 2017. This will give owner Stan Kroenke time to make sure that all the toilets flush correctly.
Atlanta last hosted the game on January 30, 2000, when Kurt Warner led the St. Louis Rams to a 23-16 win over the Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV at the Georgia Dome.
Good news, Miami! The end to our long local nightmare of not hosting a Super Bowl since 2010 is in sight.
Minneapolis, Atlanta, Miami and Los Angeles will host through 2021. In 1969, Super Bowl III was played in Miami with the Baltimore Colts representing the National Football League against the New York Jets of the AFL, though the Jets won 16-7.
Team owner Stephen Ross is footing the bill for the remodel that launched South Florida back into the Super Bowl rotation.
“I can’t think of a better place to host the Super Bowl than right here in our world-class community”, said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez.
“Having the Super Bowl [in Miami] shows we are the most aspirational city, that we host great events”. “Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be an outstanding venue for the game and with all of the attractions and hotel rooms within a mile of the stadium this is going to be the most walkable Super Bowl ever”. The time the Super Bowl was played in the city, though, Atlanta has been plagued with an ice storm.
The 2020 Super Bowl will be the 11th played in South Florida, which ties New Orleans for the most in any region.

Los Angeles gets Super Bowl LV (55), that metropolitan area’s eighth Super Bowl and first since 1993, when Pasadena’s Rose Bowl played host to its fifth Super Bowl in 16 years.
